Snappety Snappety Snap

Here are some cute little purses. These ones are for the Handm@de Winchester on Sunday 4th July.

These have a snap enclosure. I really like these purses and will be making some more to list in my online shops.

If you are thinking of popping along to the fair then please do. It will be lovely to see you and you will also see some lovely things from a wonderful collection of designers and makers. Here is a list of who will be there.

This is my second craft fair. I would love to do more but due to lack of a car and high train fairs they will need to be near me. I am quite happy to jump on the train to somewhere fairly close.

Anyway, I will let you know how the fair goes.

A set of Dorset Buttons

In my last post I showed you some buttons I have been making. Well, I have made enough for a set - a set of four that is. I suppose it is still a set if there are two different designs?

But I have also made a set of 4 of the same colour. This set is made using a variegated thread that has reds, oranges, and purples.

And here are the ones I have made so far. In this picture I have placed a Dorset button that is the 'normal' size I usually make. The little buttons are just under 1.5cms.

I am making these for the Handm@de Winchester fair on the 4th July. I hope that you can make it then as it will be a lovely day. The Hat Fair is also taking place about then and last year I had a wonderful day.

If however, you cannot make it and would like some of my handmade buttons then contact me on bigbluebed@live.com.

Thank you very much (you have to say that in an Elvis way).

I am Back!

Not that I have been away (apart from Butlins of course)...but my camera and I have been at a distance. This was caused by a virus attacking our pc and then our laptop refusing the camera connection.

So it is lovely to be able to take photos again and upload them. HOORAY!

And also I am making things again. So this is just to show you what I am mainly working on at the moment. These are teeny teeny Dorset Buttons. They are just under 1.5cms across.

I love green and pink and think these two colours work together really well. I am working towards making sets for a craft fair but get so interested in trying out different colour combinations that I have not been able to make enough for a set yet.

But I will. I will keep you posted.

Butlins

We have just returned from Butlins at Bognor Regis.

If the last time that you went was as a child then you may be pleasantly surprised. Or maybe as a child you had a fantastic time and are worried that as an adult you will not enjoy it. Well I don't know.

But I do know that we had a wonderful time.

My daughter is 6 and this is the third time we have taken her. The last time was 2 years ago. And this is the best time of all. She is old enough to enjoy more lots of things but young enough to still be entranced by Billy Bear and the Skyline gang. To be honest I am still entranced by Billy Bear. One evening the little children followed him to his bedroom in the hotel and saw his room and kissed him good night - I felt tears welling up and said a silent 'thank you' to Butlins for understanding the need for magic for children.

And we adults had a good time too. I read my book as my girl played on the indoor climbing frame (two hours she was in there). And I munched happily on chocolate smothered pancakes. I laughed and shouted at my first ever wrestling match (I watched it and did not take part). I happily peddled on a tricycle built for a mum and her girl. And lots lots more.

We don't drive so have to go by train and Bognor is just down the coast from us.

Incidentally I found a fantastic shop that I must tell you about. Squires - Suppliers of Model and Craft Tools. I was in paradise.

We are having camera issues so I didn't take one. To be visually appealing (!) I have littered this post with photos of past holidays at Butlins.
